Doctoral colloquium

We are pleased to warmly invite you to the 16th Doctoral Colloquium, which will take place on May 6 and 7, 2026 (full-day sessions on both days).

As recently as December 2025, more than 25 doctoral candidates provided a truly multifaceted insight into the activities within the individual disciplines over the course of two days. In the coming semester, the colloquium will once again offer a valuable platform for exchange and networking between doctoral candidates and faculty members, as well as a constructive framework for the further development of ongoing dissertation projects.

We therefore cordially invite you to present the current status of your dissertation, listen to the contributions of your fellow doctoral candidates, ask questions, and engage in discussion and networking with colleagues, faculty members, and experts.

Event Overview (please note the new structure!):

On the first day (May 6, 2026, full day), the 16th Doctoral Colloquium will focus on gaining an overview of the research projects of doctoral candidates who are at the beginning of their dissertation process. This will take place through 10-minute poster presentations and moderated group discussions. The presentations will be supported by advanced doctoral students, who will participate in the poster sessions of the beginners as reviewers. The day will also include several information sessions provided by the Dean of Studies, the TU Wien Doctoral Center, and the Faculty’s Research Schools, followed by an informal gathering with drinks and snacks in the early evening.

The second day (May 7, 2026, full day) will be dedicated to the reviews of advanced doctoral candidates. In the presence of their respective review jury and fellow doctoral colleagues, they will present and discuss the current status of their work.
