Field Trips in Public Space #4

Cities at the Edge: Borders, Hybrid Spaces, New Energies

The experimental Field Trips format continues! For the fourth time, students of architecture and spatial planning set out on an expedition, dedicated to engaging with specific aspects of the field of public space.

In the Summer Semester 2019, the focus once again turns to Southeastern Europe. Student groups will each concentrate on one city—developing research questions and methodology, engaging with relevant theory, and establishing contact with (local) experts—in order to embark on a multi-day research trip in May 2019.

This time, the following cities are available for selection:

Chernivtsi / Czernowitz (UA)

Gorizia (IT) | Nova Gorica (SLO)

Timișoara / Temeswar (RO)

Sulina (RO)

Tirana (AL)

Applications must be submitted in the form of a letter of motivation (max. one A4 page) by March 1, 2019, to:
martina.gunelas@tuwien.ac.at

The research trips are financed by the future.lab through funding from the City of Vienna and awarded in the form of scholarships.
