#20 Faculty Insights: Ownership entails responsibility

Under the title “Property Obligates”, Dragana Damjanovic and Paul Hahnenkamp speak with the spatial planning students Florian Gehr, Jona Gruse, Sultan Ondrus, Maria Stetter, and Bianca Tacha about the results of the seminar of the same name from the past winter semester. Against the backdrop of the climate crisis and the necessary transformation requirements across all spatially shaping sectors, they focus on the current legal framework and future adaptive possibilities regarding property rights in the areas of disaster management, land procurement, industrial transformation, monument protection, and renaturation.

Dragana Damjanovic has been Professor of Administrative Law at the Institute of Constitutional and Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna since March 2025. From 2020 to 2025, she led the Research Area of Law at the Institute of Spatial Planning at TU Wien.

Florian Gehr completed a Bachelor’s degree in Social Geography and is interested in topics related to housing. He is studying in the Master’s program in Spatial Planning at TU Wien. (Land Procurement Group)

Paul Hahnenkamp is a post-doc at the Research Area of Law at the Institute of Spatial Planning at TU Wien and conducts research primarily on property rights.
