FIELD TRIPS 2025: YES TO RENOVATION

In the summer semester of 2025, the ‘Field Trips – Transformation of Existing Buildings. Yes to Renovation’ course will focus on the European parliamentary initiative HouseEurope! The course will take students to five European cities, where they will analyse existing building transformation projects against the backdrop of the climate crisis, resource scarcity and social inequality.

Field research on site will provide intensive insights into various transformation processes – from transformed residential buildings to cultural sites in former industrial buildings. The focus will not only be on structural and spatial aspects, but above all on the social processes behind them: new forms of organisation and use, changing roles of actors and collaborative approaches to urban development.
