Beschreibung

The module on advanced architectural design for healthcare targets the ongoing issue of an abundance of outdated healthcare facilities that do not meet current healthcare needs and technological advances. The integration of healthcare facilities into the urban fabric, considering factors such as accessibility, urban planning, and the adaptation of existing structures to meet healthcare needs and human well-being, is emphasized. Furthermore, this module will delve into research on how existing healthcare buildings can be improved to better serve the evolving healthcare demands of urban populations while contributing to the livability and sustainability of the city within its built environment.

After successful completion of the module students will be able to apply innovative methods for healthcare facility design that prioritize patient and staff well-being, along with a foundational understanding of intelligent sensor systems, BIM/digital twin technology, and parametric design. Additionally, they will acquire person-centered research skills to enhance patient experiences and optimize medical procedures in healthcare environments, ultimately contributing to more compassionate, human-centered, and technologically advanced healthcare facilities.
